Benefit posie tint review

As you all know I got this product in a little benefit pack from boots, I said I wasn't sure how to apply it and that still stands. Usually I have a few tries of a.product before I decide I don't like it but honestly after just one use I know I hate this.
It has a nail varnish style applicator to apply it which I don't understand, and it says it can be cheek or lip tint.
The colour of this product was poppy pink, which looked bright pink when opened. I tried it on my hand before my face and on my hand it smoothed out into a nice pale pink colour. I tried to apply it over my foundation but as I wasn't sure how to do it, I dotted it in places and tried to brush it into a usual blusher shape. This didn't work at all. All it managed to do was remove the foundation in that area and after a few hours I just looked like I had a bright pink rash. This could be because I didn't know how to apply it which is fair enough but it doesn't come with instructions.
I then tried it on my lips but it was really liquidy and took ages to dry, it also then didn't even keep its colour.

I am not sure how much a full size of this costs but I wouldn't buy it. Maybe it would have been better if I could apply it properly but I won't even be using the rest of this sample.
Has anyone else tried this product and if so what did you think of it?

  1. I was like this with my Bene Tint at first but now to be honest it's my favourite cheek stain and has replaced my Clinique Cream Blusher. They showed me at the Benefit Counter to apply it with a bit of cotton wool and dab it to apply so you don't rub off your foundation. I don't use the cotton though, I put a bit on my finger and dab in onto my cheeks, and build it up. I think if you try to use too much, as it's watery, it just smears your base. Personally I think it's worth experimenting with a few application techniques before you give up on it (I felt exactly like you at first) or speaking to someone at Benefit and asking them to demonstrate how to apply.

  2. Thank you so much for your comment, I do hate to give up on products and I would never have thought to apply it with cotton wool but it does make sense now :-) I will try using that or my fingers and let you know how I get on!
